Our Sparkly Soul Coach of the Month is … Fitz Koehler, M.S.E.S.S. (@Fitzness)
Fitz Koehler is a fitness innovator with a Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences from the University of Florida, who has been teach been teaching fitness around the globe for 24 years. She’s president of Fitzness International LLC, a fitness company that specializes in fitness education via mass media, and fitness programming for children (Morning Mile).
Along with teaching to millions in person via corporate speaking engagements and seminars in over a dozen countries…Fitz has promoted fitness through every avenue of mass media; books, television, films, radio, magazines, journals and online. Presently, Fitz serves as fitness expert for ABC’s WCJB TV20 News as a contributor with The Fitzness Minute. She’s also a proud spokesperson for Office Depot and Therafit Shoe, and a brand ambassador for Oakley. Fitz’s mission is totack ten years on to everyone’s life she comes across.Fitzness is not only an aggressive force in the worldwide push to increase health; Fitz has created a brand. Fitzness is a gimmick free, innovative, concise, fun and attainable form of fitness.

Fitz’s favorite accomplishment is the creation and implementation of the Morning Mile.
The Morning Mile is a before-school walking/running program, which allows students to begin each day in an active, healthy and fun way. The results have been spectacular so far with the children of 150+ schools completing almost one million miles! Fitzness International LLC is excited to have spread this energizing and effective program throughout the United States, Canada and Japan.
Fitz’s book The Everything Flat Belly Cookbook: 300 Quick and Easy Recipes to help drop the belly fat and tone your abs (Everything (Cooking)) published by Adams Media hit shelves early in 2009 and was one of the highest ranked books on Amazon.com. She’s publisher of the popular online fitness magazine Fitzness.com, and has published over 2,000 articles as a freelance writer for many major news organizations.
Fitz has worked with hundreds of the biggest stars in television, radio, film and sports. Brooke Shields, Christina Applegate, Donnie Osmond, Cameron Mathison, The Wiggles, Vanessa Williams, Venus Williams, Carl Lewis, dozens of Olympians and more have trained with Fitz or taken time to share their personal fitness story and suggestions with her audience. As a speaker, Fitz brings a truckload of passion and the masterful art of coercion to the podium. She likes to joke that she has a PhD in harassment, but the fact is … when Fitz talks, people respond! She speaks on a variety of health and fitness related topics, and can customize her message to fit your needs. Her client list includes: Office Depot, Disney, ABC News, Tropicana, Sports Authority, Oakley, CBS News, Daytime TV, LifeSouth, Merck Pharmaceuticals, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Everlast and more.
Fitz has appeared on ESPN several times as a result of her prestige as a competitive full-contact kickboxer. She was one of the co-hosts of the popular Cardio Jam fitness television program, and has hosted several radio shows including Fitzness Radio and Radio Martial Arts. Fitz has also appeared on the big screen in the action movie Extreme Force, and regularly appears as a guest on talk radio. She’s retired from fighting, but enjoys distance races as a fun sport.
Most important to Fitz is her time spent working with nonprofits and children. Over the years, she’s spoken, performed and written for amazing organizations such as: American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Girl Scouts of America, Alachua County Public Schools, March of Dimes and more. She’s also very grateful for the regular opportunities with UF’s College of Health and Human Performance and College of Journalism to give back by speaking to students and hosting interns. Winning the Outstanding Young Alumni award was a tremendous reward, which continually leaves her beaming with Gator Pride. Fitz was also recently awarded the Community Leader Award by the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.
